SEPTEMBER 2026: Tiny Worlds Winners, Autumn Crafts & Our Big Clear-Out!
The Crafty Catch-Up with Dotty
Bringing you colourful chaos and creative cheer,
one month at a time!

September 2026

Hey hey! Dotty here!

Well… what a summer that was!

We welcomed more young makers into our summer workshops than ever before, filled the shop with dozens of incredible Tiny Worlds and somehow made it through the school holidays with the glitter levels only mildly out of control.

Now September has arrived, we’re celebrating our winners, sharing some exciting hobby news and looking ahead to plenty more creative goings-on at The Home Crafters.

So grab yourself a cuppa and let’s catch up…

🎨 Our Busiest Summer of Workshops Ever!

This summer was officially our busiest workshop season yet, with more children taking part than we’ve ever welcomed before!

Across the holidays, our young crafters painted, sculpted, marbled, decoupaged, needle felted and created all manner of colourful masterpieces. We loved seeing familiar faces return, meeting lots of new makers and watching everyone’s confidence and creativity grow.

Sophie says: A huge thank you to every young maker who joined us — and to all the grown-ups who booked, brought, collected and bravely transported the finished creations home!

The summer holidays may be over, but the making certainly isn’t. We’ll continue adding workshops and creative sessions for children and adults throughout the year.

🌍 Tiny Worlds 2026: Meet Our Winners!

Tiny Worlds Summer Diorama Challenge

Our very first Tiny Worlds Summer Diorama Challenge has officially come to an end — and what an incredible collection of tiny creations it produced!

The imagination, storytelling and teeny-tiny details packed onto those little wooden bases completely blew us away. Thank you to everyone who created an entry, visited the exhibition or cast a vote.

🏆 Under-16s Winner
Della W. —Camping by the Stream
Della’s entry impressed us with its imagination, creativity and lovely attention to detail. “Camping by the Stream” captured the summer theme brilliantly and showed just how much care and enthusiasm had gone into creating every part of the scene.

🏆 Adult Winner
Sarah P. — Time for a Picnic
We loved the wonderful storytelling in Sarah’s scene. The thoughtful composition and carefully crafted details (every single piece was made from scratch - even that basket!) created a tiny moment that felt full of life, making “Time for a Picnic” a charming and beautifully finished winner.

💗 People’s Choice Winner
Chevelle O. — Under the Sea
This award was decided entirely by the public — and the result was incredibly close! “Under the Sea” claimed the top spot with almost 19% of all votes cast. Chevelle’s colourful and imaginative creation clearly captured the hearts of our visitors, making it a very well-earned People’s Choice winner.

A very well-deserved congratulations to all three winners — and to every single person who took part. Choosing between such wonderfully different entries was no small task!

⚡ Pokémon Release Update

We know lots of you are eagerly waiting for the latest Pokémon release, which was originally expected at the beginning of September.

Unfortunately, our supplier has continued to move the expected order dates and we are still waiting for a confirmed delivery update. We’re keeping a very close eye on it and will let everyone know as soon as we receive definite news.

Waiting for Pokémon?
There’s no need to keep checking in with us — we’ll share an update on our socials as soon as the stock is confirmed and ready.

Thank you for bearing with us. Fingers, paws and Poké Balls crossed that we won’t be waiting much longer!

🎨 New for Miniature Painters: The Project Book

If your carefully chosen paint recipes currently live on scraps of paper, the back of an envelope or somewhere deep inside your brain labelled “I’ll definitely remember that”, we have just the thing!

Miniature Painting PROJECT BOOK - Desktop Edition: A Colour Scheme Planner, Paint Recipe Log & Hobby Archive for Miniature Painters | Buy Online from The Home Crafters

The Miniature Painting Project Book is a full-colour planner, paint-testing workbook and hobby archive created especially for miniature painters.

Use it to plan colour schemes, test paints, record successful recipes and keep track of armies, characters, display miniatures, conversions, basing formulas and all those useful little details that are otherwise so easily forgotten.

Available in a choice of editions, with sample copies in the shop if you’d like to have a proper look through before choosing yours.

Not a miniature painter yourself? These make brilliant gifts for the hobbyist in your life — and you don’t need to know anything about Warhammer, paint colours or which tiny army they’re currently building!

🍂 Cooler Days, Longer Nights & Cosy Crafts

After that huge heat-wave hit over the Summer, there’s now a definite hint of autumn in the air. The evenings are beginning to draw in, the jumpers are being dug out of the wardrobes and pumpkin spice is quietly finding its way into absolutely everything.

It’s the perfect time to settle down with a cosy new project — whether that means picking up your knitting needles, trying needle felting, painting miniatures, making autumn decorations or finally returning to the project that was abandoned when the sunshine appeared.

Dotty says: Add a warm drink, a blanket and a suspiciously early packet of seasonal biscuits for the full autumn crafting experience. 🍁

We’ll be filling the shop with plenty of seasonal inspiration over the coming weeks — starting with some exciting new autumn giftware arriving in store and on our website this week! Expect cosy colours, charming seasonal pieces and lovely little treats for your home or someone special. Keep an eye on our social pages for the first look, or pop in and see what’s new while choosing your next cosy project.

🏷️ The Great Craft Cupboard Clear-Out!

We’ve been brave, opened the cupboard of doom and tackled the stock that has been hiding at the back!

We’ve uncovered all sorts of craft supplies, kits and creative odds and ends, and reduced them to clear to make some much-needed room for the inevitable arrival of the “C” word…

Christmas! 🎄

There are some brilliant bargains to be found, but most items are limited and won’t be returning once they’re gone.

Reduced to clear!
Once it’s gone, it’s gone — and the good stuff has an annoying habit of disappearing first.

Pop into the shop for a rummage or browse the sale selection online while stocks last.

💡 Dotty’s Craft Hack of the Month

The Sticky-Tape Clean-Up Trick

Finished crafting but left behind a mysterious sprinkling of glitter, tiny paper pieces, loose threads or runaway sequins?

Wrap a piece of masking tape loosely around your fingers with the sticky side facing out, then gently dab it over your work surface. It will pick up all those fiddly little bits far more easily than trying to chase them around with your fingertips.

Dotty’s hack:
Use a gentler, low-tack masking tape around delicate materials and test a small area first. Save the stronger tape for the table, not your masterpiece!

It may not remove every speck of glitter — because glitter has ambitions far beyond the craft table — but it certainly makes the clean-up quicker.

🗓️ What’s Coming Next?

The school holidays may be behind us, but there’s still plenty arriving and happening throughout September.

Keep an eye out for:

  • New workshops and creative sessions for children and adults
  • More Warhammer releases, hobby arrivals and Prize Draws
  • Fresh stock and long-awaited restocks across the shop
  • Updates on the delayed Pokémon release
  • Autumn projects beginning to creep in — with Christmas crafting quietly peeking around the corner!

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for new stock, workshop spaces and all the crafty chaos as it happens.

That’s all from me this month! Thank you to everyone who joined a workshop, created a Tiny World, voted, visited, shopped or simply shared our posts over the summer. Your support keeps our wonderfully creative little shop going.

Here’s to a colourful, creative and slightly less glitter-covered September!
