MARCH 2026: Spring Into Something Creative
The Crafty Catch-Up with Dotty
Bringing you colourful chaos and creative cheer,
one month at a time!

March 2026

Hey you! Dotty here — shaking off the last of winter and flinging the workshop doors open for spring. 🌷

March always feels like a reset month. The light’s creeping back in, projects are starting again, and there’s that little spark of “ooh I fancy making something”.

Let’s catch up…

🧵 New In

If January was about clearing space… February and March have been about filling it again.

We’ve had a wave of new craft kits land — the kind that make you want to clear the dining table and declare a “creative afternoon”.

Think:

  • fresh makes for spring
  • giftable kits (Mother’s Day incoming 👀)
  • projects that are satisfying without being overwhelming

It’s very much a “new season, new project” vibe in store right now.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to start something new — this might be it.

We’ve also had a smattering of new board games arrive, perfect for lighter evenings and family table time.

And for the tabletop storytellers — we now have some brilliant D&D one-shot books in store. Ideal if you fancy running a quick adventure without committing to a year-long campaign. Grab your dice, gather your party, and off you go.

🎨 Workshop Watch

February half term was exactly what it should be:
✨ Busy
✨ Creative
✨ Slightly chaotic
✨ Full of proud little faces

The kids absolutely smashed it in workshops — paint everywhere (as expected), glitter in mysterious places (also expected), and some genuinely brilliant creations heading home.

Now that the paint pots have been scrubbed and the tables reclaimed, we’re shifting gears a little.

Over the next few weeks, we’re leaning into springtime mindfulness with our adult classes — slower sessions, calm creativity, and a little breathing space from everyday life.

And Sophie? She’s already busy concocting the Easter workshops… so keep your eyes on our socials. They won’t hang around once announced.

all our workshops are available to book online 🎉

💡 Hobby Hack of the Month

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to mean scrubbing skirting boards.

This month’s hobby hack?
Declutter your creative space — gently.

Try this:

✔ Finish one tiny project that’s been half-done for months
✔ Donate or swap supplies you know you won’t use
✔ Reorganise your workspace so it feels inviting again
✔ Pick one “fresh start” project and make it visible

Creative clutter can quietly become mental clutter. A little tidy-up can do wonders for motivation.

You don’t need a Pinterest studio.
Just a space that makes you think: “Ooh… I fancy making something.”

⚔️ Brush Crusade

Well. What. A. Show.

The Brush Crusade 2026 absolutely blew us away. The standard of entries this year? Unreal. From first-time painters nervously placing their minis on display, to seasoned hobbyists flexing their blending skills — the cabinet was stacked.

Huge thank you to everyone who entered, voted, popped in to admire the entries, or cheered from the sidelines. These events only work because of this brilliant little creative community we’ve built together.

If you haven’t seen the gallery yet, go have a look — it’s proper inspirational stuff.

And yes… we’re already thinking about next year. 👀

🎯 Dotty’s Pick

This month’s pick is something that quietly sneaks up on people… and then suddenly you’re knotting at 10pm wondering where the evening went.

Macramé

It looks complicated. It isn’t.
It looks impressive. It absolutely is.

With just a few simple knots, you can create plant hangers, wall hangings, keyrings, and little decorative pieces that feel properly handmade and a bit boho-in-a-good-way.

The magic of macramé is in the rhythm.
Knot. Pull. Repeat.

It’s one of those crafts that naturally slows you down. No rushing. No fiddly precision. Just hands moving and brain gently switching off.

If you’re leaning into the “spring clean your craft brain” vibe this month, macramé is a brilliant place to start.

Beginner-friendly.
Minimal tools.
Maximum satisfaction.

And fair warning… once you’ve learned the square knot, you’ll see potential projects everywhere. 🌿
