The Home Crafters Shop in Yate Shopping Centre is staying OPEN for the duration of 2016!
We originally started out as a 12 week 'pop-up' shop in May, offering space for crafters to sell their hand-made work alongside a good range of arts & crafts supplies and regular crafty workshops. We have been opening daily to the customers of Yate shopping centre with some really gorgeous products on sale by our regular and new crafters; everything from umbrellas to candles, fused glass to cushions, jewellery to garden pots! We even have our very own seamstress in store who offers a repairs and alterations service which has proved so popular she is considering bringing her 'industrial' machine into the shop!
In fact, we have had such success overall that the shopping centre have asked us to stay!
So we are ramping it up a bit!.....
From August we are changing our layout around a bit to allow for a more sociable workshop area and for more affordable ways for our crafters to get their products on sale with us.
We are introducing a cosy corner at the rear of the large shop space to accommodate our regular craft workshops and parties as well as bringing in some fabulous new shelving units for our crafters to display their products on - they really are quite fab!
We are also hoping to extend our range of arts & crafts supplies to accommodate every genre of art and craft, my first port of call will be to bring in a wider range of fabrics and yarns, but if there is anything you need that we don't have, please let us know and we will do our best to get it in stock!
We are so excited to be staying, we have already planned a full line-up of kids activities for the Summer Holidays and will be launching an 'after work' craft club regularly on a Wednesday after store close for adults too - perfect to 'get your craft on' in an intimate and friendly atmosphere, we may even bring cake!! ;-)
As it will inevitably get busier as we approach Christmas, we are asking our crafters to give up a few hours of their time, just once a fortnight, to sit in the shop (working on their own projects if they like) and cover the till on occasion. This helps us out greatly and also means that every customer will also get a good chance to meet the makers.
We have streamlined how we rent out our space in store:
From August the new, affordable space will be available to hire by the fortnight - this gives our customers a better chance of seeing and buying our crafters wonderful items!
The best thing is - space hire starts at less than £1 per day!
We have a range of options, including smaller cube shelves, large standard shelves, tables and wall space - all hired by the fortnight.
But you get more than just space with The Home Crafters!
We not only serve your customers, take special orders, refer all queries immediately and manage your products, we record all your sales and handle all your money for you (sending an email with a full breakdown of sales to you and a BACS transfer of your takings on a fortnightly basis - this is where your 10% commission goes)
We promote the shop consistently, keeping our brand in the spotlight, spreading the word among local communities, putting up adverts wherever we can. Every customer even gets a leaflet about who we are and what we do with their purchase so they don't forget us!
We also pay for adverts to boost our posts across all social media platforms including Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter and we promote each individual crafter at least once a fortnight on both our Facebook pages and Twitter!
